It’s been a while since I’ve given you guys an update so thought while munchkin is asleep I’d use it to update my blog!
Lately I’ve been keeping REALLY busy with heaps of training getting ready for the City2Surf and also my photoshoot, both 2 weeks away.
My City2Surf training has been going really well and I’m loving training for a shorter run. It’s nice to have a plan and something to work towards. Each week I have 4 runs I have to do which include either a hill or interval session, easy run, race pace run and a long run. My shortest run at the moment is about 8km and my longest is 14km, which I've just done this morning and actually managed over 15km. This time around I’ve been including a fair few hill runs as I want to enjoy the run unlike when I did the Loch Ness Marathon and didn’t do hardly any hill runs and ran one of the hilliest marathon courses around!
Over the past 6 weeks of training I’ve been pretty consistent and only missed a few runs due to having a cold on and off for 2 weeks. So overall loving the running training and really looking forward to participating in one of the worlds biggest runs!!! I’m not setting myself any time goals as my main priority is to enjoy the run, feel like I’ve put in a great effort and just enjoy being there. I’m actually a bit more excited for my sister who has been training her butt off and gone from just running 5km to over 12km in just a few weeks. (so proud of your Luc!).
Not only have I been doing all my running but also trying to fit in a couple of rpm/bike sessions and 3-4 weights/pump classes per week and the extra power walks as well! I’ve really upped the training lately as I’m finding these last couple of kilos hard to shift. As my fitness has dramatically increased, it’s an effort to burn a decent amount of calories in any session. You can check out some of my runs on the Get Active Online Facebook page for details. I’ve also been trying to keep my nutrition pretty clean and simple although still letting a few too many little extras creep in.
Overall pretty happy with where I’m at as once again I’ve been enjoying the journey and not just solely focussed on the end result. These upcoming photos are a personal thing for me, it’s my 35th Birthday and I also wanted to prove to myself that I could have just as good a body (if not better) after having a baby. So knowing that I’ve worked really hard I’m already pretty proud of what I’ve achieved and hopefully can get some nice pics to show off my hard work.
So life is GREAT, Cam, Braden and I have been having a lot of fun lately and last weekend we all headed to Townsville for Cam’s first official Mountain Bike Race – The Paluma Push. Cam did really well and achieved the time he was after but most importantly loved the whole experience. I really enjoyed it all too as we got to go away as a family and do something fun at the same time.
So that’s about it from me. Get Active is going great and I have lots of motivated clients on the go at the moment. There is a couple of ladies getting ready for their wedding day, Peta who is currently in Italy preparing for her first Sportsmodel comp and Alison who is proudly sharing her journey with you all thorugh my blog!
As you can see I’m pretty lucky to not only have my own personal goals to work towards but am constantly inspired by all my clients and people around me.
