Honesty & Listening to your body

I'm really good at telling others to listen to their bodies although lately I think I've been forgetting to do it myself!

Today I had a Dr appointment to see how things were progressing with my pregnancy. The good news is everything is great but why then do I feel like crap. So many women keep telling me how good you feel in your 2nd trimester, bounding with energy and full of life! Well I can honestly say I haven't felt this tired, EVER and am seriously lacking motivation to do anything right now.

Last night I went to bed at 8pm and slept for a good 10-11 hours and still woke up tired. So today when I saw the Dr I was sure she was going to tell me I was low in iron or something but no all is good, I'm fine, JUST PREGNANT!

It's funny as I was explaing to the Dr how tired I was feeling and how I'm so used to feeling so energetic and great and she explained it was most probably just my body telling me to slow down. What? I'm not good as slowing down but maybe my body is telling me too! This week I've only done 1 rpm class as I ended up doing a trip to Sydney and I'm off again tomorrow. Really no excuse as I had the time but just didn't have ANY energy. Just to go off flying at the moment takes some serious motivation and all my energy just to stay up late.

So anyway I'm going to chill out a bit this week and see if I start to feel a bit better.

I'm also learning through pregnancy how many women just like to gloss over things and don't really tell you how it REALLY is. I'm pretty honest and if things are bad I'll usually tell, I gather I get more support if I'm upfront and honest. Although I've learnt so many other women tell you how great it is being pregant and a new Mum but don't like to talk about things like depression, lack of sleep, body image issues etc. I'm trying to be realistic and know that being a new Mum is going to be tough, for sure it's exciting but the reality is my life is going to change dramatically.

So maybe it is time I chilled out a bit as soon I'm going to be busier than I have ever been before.

Anyway just a bit of a ramble from me today!

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Cheers, Hilds
