You know one of those weeks that goes forever and you don’t know how you will survive, well that’s my week!
On Saturday I got home after spending the week in Adelaide with my family. It was a lovely week although very tiring travelling on your own with a bubba especially when you are on Standby and it’s school holidays (won’t be doing that again!). I managed to get home on Saturday afternoon after being on the road with Braden since 6:30am. It was good to get home although as Cam was still away so my little break was still a few days off.
I’d planned for a good week and knew I had a rest coming up as Braden was booked into Family Day care for two days. It turns out that the break never came as Braden got a fever and since Sunday has been stressing his Mum out. Last time he had a fever he ended up in Emergency after a long fit so I’ve been on edge all week panicking that he would have another fit. Sunday night Braden slept in bed with me although this was a nightmare as he didn’t sleep well and managed to roll right up close and I was nearly pushed out of bed. Monday and Tuesday were quite similar although I decided I’d bunk down on his floor so I could be close and keep checking his temp but he could sleep in his cot, he ended up on the floor with me!!! So I was a walking zombie for a few days with very little sleep.
Last night I did manage to get a bit of sleep as his temp seemed to calm down a bit and now I’m just in the challenging process of trying to collect a urine sample (do you know how hard that is to do on a baby!). So poor little Braden has a plastic bag on his little willy so that we can get some more tests done and see what’s wrong with the little munchkin (although starting to wonder if I will actually be able to collect any pee, how come he pees on me all the time and when you want him too, it doesn’t happen!). I tell you what after my week, I have a very high respect for any single Mums out there. I’m so lucky to have a hubby who is very hands on and when he’s not around and Braden is sick it’s so stressful.
Anyway the good news is that with all this going on I’ve still managed to eat really well and have been back on my trusty treadmill. I’m so glad I’ve got a treadmill at home as it’s the only way I can get any cardio in when I have Braden around and no support. Although I don’t know how much longer it will be easy to get a run in as this morning Braden discovered he could throw plastic bottles onto the treadmill which made it challenging for me trying to run and not fall off! I’ve also had to have a variety of things to occupy him, he goes from on the floor with all the tupperware, into the highchair with some toast and then if all else fails into the jumperoo (the things I do to get a run in).
So anyway that’s my week. Sick bubs, at home all week, lots of work and it’s raining no stop! Bring on the weekend and Cam coming home.
Hope everyone else is having a better week than mine. The good thing is that I know next week will seem like a breeze compared to this one (there is always a light at the end of the tunnel).
Have a great day, I’m off to browse the shops and get out of the house before I go insane!

Hi Hilde,
oh I so feel for you. But credit to you for surviving that tough week without eating your body weight in junk food (not that I thought you would) and for still finding a way to fit in some training. You're a real inspiration.

Thanks Magda, I'm just lucky that there is no junk in the house otherwise I think I would have eaten it! When it's not in the house it's so much easier.
Not long and Cam will be home, yeah!!!
