Sorry, had to insert this picture as it was taken last night (maybe not appropriate but hey, it's my blog). I think it's Braden way of telling us that he doesn't want to be woken up!
Anyway only a few days to go and I'll be finished my own little 12 week challenge!!!
Last week was actually pretty average. My good intentions of going hard for the final couple of weeks just didn't happen. Instead I was adding in way too many extras and just getting a bit complacent with it all. I kinda know why as it usually happens when I start to feel good. I can now fit into all my clothes and am pretty much back to normal so my mind was telling me it was ok to slacken off!
The reality is that I could stay how I am and be ok but I do want to get just a few kilos lighter and that means putting in some hard work! So anyway the week was ok but by no means one of my best. As usual my training was ok considering I had a couple of days where I didn't feel too flash and decided to rest up. It was my nutrition that really let me down!
TRAINING LAST WEEK:
1 X 6km TEMP JOG
1 X 5km RUNNING INTERVAL SESSION
1 X BIKE INTERVAL SESSION
1 X 10KM JOG
1 1/2 WEIGHT SESSIONS (felt pretty average half way through and decided to stop)
NUTRITION:
As mentioned above it wasn't ideal. I started to feel good and just started adding in a few extras here and there which right now is too much! I also find when I try and get too strict with my nutrition it backfires and I end up with bad cravings and eating more.
This week has also proven that the scale really isn't a great measure of your progress. I still lost weight but no measurments which some people would be happy with but I would much prefer to lose size and have those clothes fit better than see a smaller number on the scale. Also just so you know how unrealiable the scale can be. I weighed myself before and after a run. After the run I was 500g lighter, which some people would think is fantastic but the reality is that it's just fluid loss and as soon as I rehydrate it all comes back on!!!
WEIGHT LOSS: .5kg - before my run 1kg after (I'll stick with the true reading of .5kg)
MEASURMENTS LOST: NONE
THINGS I'VE LEARNT THIS WEEK:
- It's far better to see a decrease in size than scale weight.
- Your nutrition really does have to be pretty good when it comes to the final few kilos.
- That it's ok not to be perfect as long as you are happy with YOUR progress.
Have a fabulous week.
Cheers, Hilds
