It’s ok to get uncomfortable!

It’s ok to get uncomfortable!

Lately I’m realising that a lot of peoples results come down to how uncomfortable they are prepared to get. I’m constantly amazed at how everyone wants to change but not really prepared to get that bit uncomfortable and do what needs to be done.

Strangely it’s ok to feel a bit uncomfortable! Honestly what do you expect if you are trying to make some big changes?

If you’ve never run before do you think it’s going to feel easy?

Do you think just because you’ve committed to a program that you are going to want to get up early and do that exercise that you haven’t done for ages?

Do you think that it’s going to be easy to say no to some of the yummy food that those close friends and family offer you?

Seriously, if it were that easy we’d all be super fit and look amazing but the reality is that we need to put in some effort and get a bit uncomfortable if we want to make some great changes. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the journey but you do have to realise at times it can be tough and you need to do what is required not what you might feel like doing.

Do any of these comments sound familiar?

“But I think I’m going to die, I just can’t run” (of course it’s hard if you haven’t done it before but if you persist it will get easier).

“I was offered the cake so it was rude not to have it” (If they offered you fried liver, would of you felt rude saying no).

“I didn’t have time to prepare my meals, so I had to get takeaway” (and you’re telling me there isn’t any healthy takeaway out there).

I could go on and on with the excuses I hear on a daily basis (there are some good ones out there) but this isn’t going to help you. What will is realising that feeling that bit uncomfortable is a good sign, it means you are challenging yourself and making changes.

So next time you feel like it’s a bit too hard or a bit uncomfortable think of it as a big step forward and a feeling that isn’t so bad but something that WILL help you reach your goals.

TIME TO GO AND GET UNCOMFORTABLE AND DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!
