Easter Eggs

Well Easter is just around the corner and I know lots of you are worried about how to get through it. The reality is that it's just 4 days and if you go into it with the right mindset you can not only come out the other side feeling good but even make some good progress at the same time

Here are a few tips to get you through:

Realise it’s not just about eating chocolate! For sure Easter is a time when we eat more chocolate and hot cross buns although it doesn’t have to be ALL about that. If you are lucky enough to have 4 days off, enjoy the break and use the time to do some things that will make you feel great. Schedule in some exercise - Most people will have 4 days off so there really is . . .

The Power of the mind!

Last week I was off on a flying trip to Canberra for the night and had a few hours in Canberra before flying out to come home. Before I left home I decided that if I could run for 2 hours in Canberra that I would commit to the Gold Coast Marathon!

I suppose since making the decision to go part-time flying I realised that maybe I could complete all the marathon training plus I've been inspired by a few clients participating in runs as well. So anyway I knew that there is about 14 weeks until the marathon and that if I wanted to do it I'd need to be able to run about 20km now.

Doing what works for you!

I think sometimes people look for that magic diet or get caught up in the latest diet craze! Surely if it’s so popular it must work!

The reality is that EVERONE IS DIFFERENT and what works for some quite often won’t work for others.

Some will go low carb, others high carb, shake diets, paleo, don’t combine protein & carbs, don’t eat after 7, eat every 5 hours, eat every 2-3 hours. The reality is most diets will work to some degree if you follow them but what you need to ask yourself is: Is this way of eating something I could do forever??

WHY SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT.....

Today reinforced how important it is for me to make sure I get my 8 hours sleep! I know some people survive on less but I've worked out I NEED my eight hours, any less and I'm just no where near as productive, happy or motivated. I'm still amazed at how much a lack of sleep . . .
