Getting through Christmas feeling ok!

We’re in the middle of it all now, constant Chrissy parties and non stop food and drinks and here you are trying to be good. So how do you survive this time and come out the other side feeling ok?

I must say I’m quite impressed by many of my clients at the moment who are still going strong and following their program right through Christmas.

Here are some tips to survive this time:

- PLAN, PLAN, PLAN. If you know you have parties on plan to eat really well during the day and schedule in some extra exercise.

- Don’t go to a party hungry! Eat a nice healthy meal before you go.

- Don’t skip meals. If you think skipping meals will help all it does it makes you hungrier at the party and more incline to overeat when out.

- Add in some extra exercise. If you know you’ll be eating more off plan or not so healthy meals add in some extra cardio that day.

- Control the amount of alcohol you have and choose lower sugar drinks. Stick to drinks with soda water and limit the creamy cocktails. It also helps to have some water in between drinks and set yourself a limit of drinks you are going to have.

- Get up the day after the party and exercise REGARDLESS of if you want to or not. Don’t some exercise the next day after drinking can help get your nutrition on track and stop you from craving all those high carb/sugar foods.

Remember that even though you might not be as good as you usually are just by being aware and not going overboard will make a huge difference. So even if you maintain over Chrissy then you’ve done pretty well!
