12 WEEK CHALLENGE - ALISON - END OF WEEK 9

How I went this week:

Hi everyone :) I had a good week 9, not perfect but I feel good about it none the less. I had a REST day - very rare for me!! I did no exercise yesterday (Sunday) and didn't freak out too much! This morning's session (chest, shoulders and bi's followed by 30 mins hard on the elliptical) was awesome, I felt strong and rested. I had a few treats this week but in a controlled fashion. The weekend was spot on and so I have started week 10 feeling light which is great. The electronic scales that I use every Monday morning at the gym are broken so I used the old school ones in the gym's bathroom - they are hard to read as look like a clock face rather than giving a digital reading BUT I think they said 56kg which is not good. I am not going to stress but wish they had said something more like 54! I have ordered some Tanita body composition scales as really want some idea of my body fat and also just a good set of scales for home.

What training I did:

I trained 6 days this week. This was made up of 4 cardio and 3 resistance sessions.

How I’m feeling:

I am feeling good this week. As I write this I am just in from a cold, windy play at a local park with Ethan. I have eaten meals one and two and know what I will be eating for meals three through five! Over the weekend I re read Tom Venuto's, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, a book Hilde recommended to me years ago and that has a great approach to nutrition for changing your body composition. With Hilde's help I am trialling carb cycling, where I eat low carb and moderate carb on alternate days. Tom talks about this in his book and it's something I am interested in - I will let you know how I go!

What I can do better next week:

This weekend I am going to Sydney with Chad. We are leaving our kids with his parents here in Newcastle and are staying in a nice hotel in Darling Harbour. We really need this time away as have been spending very little quality time together lately. It will give us a chance to catch up with some friends as well as my sister and her partner. Those of you reading this that have kids will know what I mean when I say how much I am looking forward to some kid free time! I love my kids but a little break every now and then (this'll be the first in FOREVER!) is great! So I want my nutrition and training this week to be spot on so I can really enjoy myself on Saturday. I am not going to go crazy off plan, but a nice meal with dessert is something I am really looking forward to and want to feel like I really deserve it. Three weeks to go.......... I don't want this to end! Have a great week girls and guys :) Ali

Hilds said - It's all starting to come together now! Ali, has done so well to be consistent for 9 weeks and from my experience it's NOW that people really start to notice. Ali, I wouldn't take any notice of that scale, you are feeling good, shrinking and doing what needs to be done so just keep it up!

Also I want you to ENJOY this coming weekend. You deserve to have a great time and I'm a big believer in living a balanced lifestyle. So one day of being not so good might not make the scale go down as much but it will be great for the whole family as happy parents mean, happy kids!!!

HAVE FUN!
