How I went this week:
Well it turns out that I am human after all and not without my weaknesess........ This week I gave myself a big fright and ate OFF PLAN!! I ate chocolate, cakes, biscuits, cereal and too much of it and all at once. Can't say I enjoyed it and can't say I feel good about it at all. It was Wednesday afternoon. I had been at work, did not plan my food for the day properly and arrived home absolutely starving hungry. Sill silly me. I owned up to Hilde straight away and pulled my head in quick smart. The funny thing was, the next morning at the gym I felt like I had a hangover....... weird. Apart from this little divergence from it all, I had another really great week. I have measured myself again and have lost little bits off the bits that I want BIG bits off - but it's all happening. I have had a big shift in the way I am thinking about this 'transformation' this week. I am no longer viewing it as a 12 week challenge, but rather as a means to developing a way of living everyday for the next long while (ie, forever!). So with that in mind, I am not beating myself up too much about Wednesday. What I do want to be able to do is plan these 'treats' and have them in a much much MUCH more controlled and enjoyable (and civilised) fashion.
What training I did:
This week I trained 7 days - again! Really, a day without exercise is a sad day for me ;) My kids love Saturday mornings when we hit the garage for skipping, star jumps, pushups, step ups and weights. They keep me motivated and rarely leave my side for the 45 minutes it takes me to do the circuit three times through. Sundays we do hill runs - they cheer me on and keep time. Through the week I go to the gym 5 mornings at 5.30 and sometimes again through the day. Ethan loves the creche and I love the classes so its win win especially if the weather is yucky.
How I’m feeling:
Look, this week could've been better. I slipped up big time but there is a bigger picture here. I have not drunk alcohol in SO long and do not even want any. There's an open bottle of wine in the fridge from friends that stayed here on the weekend and I reckon if no one comes over to drink it soon, it'll be down the sink. I feel well and happy and I know I can do this, change my body so it represents me properly. Sure I would love to be able to say I'd had a perfect 12 weeks at the end of this but that is not reality, not for me anyway! At the end of this I want to know I pushed through some tough times and already I think I can say that.
What I can do better next week:
There's 4 good weeks to go and 4 weeks of maintinence beyond that. I may not be ready to maintain - but rather keep challenging myself to change but there's alot more than 8 weeks left to live and this is a whole life challenge now, a way of thinking about food, exercise and happy living. I am just over 55kgs this week. I think that honestly I can get to my goal of 52 and with your support I will give it a good hard go! Hope everyone else is going great on their challenges, all the best for a great week :) Ali
HILDS SAID: This week has been one of the best as it's proven that the most important aspect is getting back on track. Let me tell you all that NO ONE has a perfect 12 weeks. It's simply unrealistic and setting you up for trouble afterwards. It's good that Ali had a crappy day as it's proven that she can get back on track and that one bad day won't stop you from moving forward.
What I really love is that fact Ali has included her kids into her training and they love it. We can all use the excuse it's too hard or we don't have time but the reality is that we can find the time if we really want to. I also do most of my training at home with Braden and he is so used to it now it's not an issue!
GREAT WEEK ALI, well done.
