ALISON - END OF WEEK 10

How I went this week:
Hi everyone :) Because Chad and I were going to Sydney this weekend, I took my measurements on Saturday morning for week 10. I was so happy to see the scales say 53.4kg! I worked super hard this week and feel like I really deserved this drop of 1.7kg in two weeks. The scales that I got for home also give a body fat reading. Mine was 24.8%. This is quite high and it's a shame I don't know what my % was at the beginning of the challenge to see how far I've come in this area. At least I can see where I am at now and it gives me incentive to get this figure down below 20%. I had also lost cm's in all areas which is really encouraging too.

We had a great weekend catching up with a few friends, and my sister and her partner. As is so typical of how we Aussies socialise, all these catch ups involved food! I had two amazing salads over the weekend, all that were plan compliant (even the dressings!), one AMAZING Italian dinner (my sister and I shared a gnocchi and salad) followed by Affogatto for dessert (this I did not share!!!) and one fabulous hotel breakfast (bircher muesli with sunflower seeds, berries and walnuts, followed by a boiled egg, tomato and pineapple). All up I did not deviate too much from my plan but still, knowing that I could if I had wanted to was nice!

What training I did:
Sunday was a rest day again but the other 6 days saw me sweating up a storm either at the gym or at home :) I trained my upper body with weights two days, did one lower body plyometrics session, one spinn class, two running sessions and an aerobics class.

How I’m feeling:
Fabulous! Last week I also went and saw someone for my skin (it was still just so red and aggravated). She was recommended to me by a girl I met at at makeup party. I just love how the universe works sometimes. I was not going to go to the party as was feeling so awful about my skin and what worse place to be than a makeup party!? I went anyway because it was for a good friend and wanted to support her. Anyway, one of the makeup artists was just so so nice about it and told me about a beautician she goes to that could probably help me. I booked in the next day and already, less than a week later, the improvement is amazing. This is just making how good I am feeling about my achievements on this challenge that little bit better :)

What I can do better next week:
We are going camping for what will be my week 12 so this week (11) will be the last gym workouts for the challenge. Today I did back and tri's followed by running on the treadmill. I will push hard and with Hilde's help, put something together for while we're camping. It's not an ideal way to end the challenge BUT this is life and it's school holidays and we need a break! There's no reason why I can't stick to my healthy eating while away and soft sand running is a great workout.....!

HILDS SAID: I'm so happy for Ali right now. All of her hard work is finally paying off and the best part about it all is that she has enjoyed the journey, had a life and still making some fantastic changes.

What I do want to get across is that there is nothing wrong with Ali's Body Fat percentage. I think sometimes we compare ourselves to athletes and for a female close to 20% BF is pretty good. I know some people say they are under 10% but the reality is that females need to carry a certain amount of fat to function and be HEALTHY.

So don't stress about a number and instead keep focussing on all the things that you KNOW are keeping you fit and healthy.

Keep up the great work Ali, not long to go now!!!!
